I was at South Branch (Smoke Hole Section) today fishing and there were two guys fishing with 7-8 foot long spinning real poles and they were using a bobber about 3 feet up from their bait but I'm not sure what they were using? But they were catching trout like crazy, left and right If anyone have any idea what they might have been using, mealworms? or maybe the little plastic trout worms? hit me back!

How were they fishing it? I dont spin fish as much these days, but it could be a lot of things as far as I can tell, as far as what they were using.

RiverRasta might know

Yea jrod your on the rite track. My best guess would be mealy's or trout magnets, altho a few yrs ago i was fishing Barnum,Wv and i watched 2 guys from Erie,Pa use a similar rig but they were using fresh salmon eggs with size 18 hook, catching trout like they were in a hatchery, when nobody else was getting a nibble a strike or nothing. Finally other fishing stopped fishing to watch them, i did as well lol!!! and Md had just put Brood Trout in a few days b4, Tough to stomach lol

Man those Erie guys, spin and fly fisherman both KILL it on the blood dot flies. That's why they are all over the front page. Best egg pattern you'll see. Spin guys rig a bobber, a split shot and a blood dot and catch trout by the dozens. I have too, but on a fly rod.
